Around that same time, I fell in love with basketball. It became my obsession, my dream. I gave it everything I had—countless hours on the court, relentless training, and a fierce determination to make it as a pro. But after four surgeries and some harsh realities, it was time to let go.
There I was, an adult with an insatiable love for chocolate and a deep, true respect for my health. And then it hit me… if I wasn’t going to stop eating chocolate, maybe I could reinvent it.
What if chocolate could taste just as incredible—better even—but also serve as something that’s actually good for me?
That’s when the gears started turning. First, I needed the best cacao in the world—something pure, rich, magical—cacao that embodies everything I’ve ever loved about the experience of chocolate. Then came the big question: what would I use to sweeten it? Being Middle Eastern, the answer was almost too obvious: Dates. With some help from a friend, armed with a countertop chocolate refiner I bought off Amazon for $250, I dove into my first batch. The result… let’s just say, not that great. But I saw the potential. So I kept pushing.

After eight months of refining the recipe, I could finally say with confidence that we had created the absolute most delicious chocolate I’ve ever tasted.
